The Chattering Class began as an acoustic trio in Victoria, B.C. in 2001 with Graeme Card, Rose Birney and Gordie Pendleton. In 2006, re-forming as a duo, Rose and Graeme began to re-phrase their eclectic, mostly self-penned repertoire of roots/folk/ragtime/ music with its off-beat, humourous and sometimes poignant view of life, to fit two voices. Strong harmonies are accompanied by various guitars, mandolins, harmonicas and an artful kazoo.

Often described as uplifting, they've engaged audiences at folk clubs across Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands, as well at various festivals including the Filburg and Island's Folk Festivals and were featured on CBC's "Madly Off In All Directions."

The Chattering Class has two CD's available, featuring the original trio. Hear them on our Give Us a Listen page and read their press and their bios right here on this page!
